Massapequa is located on the South Shore of聽Long Island聽in Nassau County, New York. It offers excellent access to the Oyster Bay as the Long Island beaches are close even to people living on the interior side of the hamlet. It is bordered by Amityville, Seaford, and Massapequa Park. It is also close to large cities as it is 28 miles away from New York City, NY, 30 miles from Jersey City, NJ, and 37 miles from Newark, NJ.

Brief History Of Massapequa聽
The Lenape tribe of Native Americans are believed to have originally dwelled in the region. They spoke Algonquin language and have left a print on Nassau Shores manifested as street names such as Shinnecock Avenue and Algonquin Avenue. European settlers first came to the area in the 1770s, led by Thomas Freelove Jones. He had built a mansion with his family next to what is now the Massapequa High School. The construction boom in the 1950s and 1960s, post聽海角社区 War II, broke the trend of the slow growth that the town had witnessed in the previous two centuries. Prior to 1940, the population was only around 3,000 people who mostly worked locally. However, the arrival of young people to the region livened Massapequa and contributed to its flourishing.
