Grapevine, Texas
Grapevine is a city and suburb of Dallas and Fort Worth in the northeast of Tarrant County in Texas, United States of America. In October of 1843, a signing of a 鈥減eace, friendship, and commerce鈥 occurred between General Sam Houston and 10 Native American nations. The settlement that later emerged was named Grapevine due to the location of the city and the surrounding areas. These names also pay homage to the wild grapes that grew in the area. Grapevine is the oldest settlement in Tarrant County.
The city is adjacent to Grapevine Lake, a large reservoir built by the Army Corps of Engineers in 1952 that serves as a water source and is also a recreational area.聽
