The Fort was closed down on May 28, 1861, but reopened on May 19, 1863, when the Civil War began. The Fort was used till 1890, after which it was converted into an Indian school. Others head straight to Willow Beach, where they may rent boats or paddle craft and fish from the pier.
Los Lagos Golf Club
Los Lagos Golf Club makes excellent use of the beautiful and diverse geography of the Colorado River Valley. Ted Robinson Sr. built the course, which contained more than 40 cleverly positioned bunkers throughout the fairways and green sides.
