The small city of Mackinac Island is as charming as it gets. With its horse-drawn carriages, clear blue skies, and ideal beachside location, the community exudes an extremely welcoming environment — and there are so many options to explore all of it.

The island also offers kayak or paddleboard tours with local guides.

The other mode of transportation is, of course, by horses! There are many official carriage tours of Mackinac State Park, offering narrated guides of the city and its history. If you plan on riding a horse by yourself, Cindy's Riding Stable also offers opportunities where visitors can take the reins themselves and enjoy the ride, regardless of skill and ability.

Located in the southernmost point of New Jersey, it is an adorable, idyllic town that has welcomed visitors since the mid-18th century. Cape May is a gorgeous beach destination that is open all year round and offers a guaranteed relaxing vacation.

Although there are many different names for the beaches in Cape May, it's essentially a long stretch of sand, which means visitors can walk from one end of the promenade to the other while enjoying the breeze and waves. Starting off at The Cove, you'll walk through Windsor, Madison, and Reading and end up at Poverty Beach. All are easily accessible based on your accommodation.

Visit the Cape May County Park and Zoo for a glimpse of wildlife or the Naval Air Station Wildwood Aviation Museum for an interactive indoor activity. After all these have been checked off your list, dining options such as Ocean 7 or SeaSalt Restaurants are great ways to end the day.

Stowe is typically known to be a great place for skiing during the winter, but it's a destination to enjoy all year round. Hit the slopes between the majestic mountains of Mount Mansfield — the tallest peak in Vermont — and Spruce Peak if you're someone who thrives in the winter, or simply take a gondola ride up to the top if you prefer to enjoy the views or if you're visiting in the summertime. Mountain biking is also available for guests, and a few of the well-known trails include Cady Hill Forest, Adams Camp, and Sterling Forest.

While you're outside, don't miss out on seeing Moss Glen Falls, Vermont's tallest waterfall, or Bingham Falls, which can be found on one of Stowe's 45 hiking trails — from Stowe Pinnacle to the notoriously steep Hellbrook Trail; all these natural gems can be found within.

Finish it by soaking in melody at Meadow's outdoor concert series or stopping by Stowe Farmer's Market. No matter the season, there's always a little magic in this small town, and it's more than worthy of being on your bucket list.

However, if you're looking for a lively place where tourists may flock, then Ballard's Beach is the place to be. Hotels and oceanfront restaurants are placed along the shore, so you can enjoy a nice cocktail while listening to the soothing sound of the ocean.
