The Colorado Plateau is a vast area that stretches from Utah, parts of Colorado, Arizona, and through to New Mexico. It is populated by a number of cozy desert towns and mountain villages that encircle the plateau. Visitors flock to the area for the region's abundance of National Parks, historic landmarks, and depth of culture throughout the region. Each of the small towns in the Colorado Plateau has something different to offer, from cozy downtowns to relaxing hot springs, artistic neighborhoods, and welcoming people. Telluride, CO

Telluride is the perfect cozy small town. It has a small and close-knit downtown area, measuring just eight blocks across and 12 blocks long. But despite being small, the little Colorado town is warm and welcoming and a great place for visitors to enjoy the scenic mountainscapes and small-town vibes. The cozy town is tucked into a box canyon surrounded by towering mountain peaks, creating a quaint atmosphere. The historical downtown is lined with Victorian-style buildings and the history of the old gold rush. The entire downtown is designated a National Historic Landmark District. Visit in winter for amazing ski conditions, then get warm and cozy at the famous Telluride Ski Resort. Ride the gondola up to Mountain Village for epic town views from 9,500 feet. Jemez Springs looks like a scene from a postcard. This small New Mexico town is only an hour outside of Albuquerque and a great cozy option for visitors looking for something quaint and charming. Like Durango, Jemez Springs also has natural hot springs. Enjoy the unaltered Spence Hot Springs or Soda Dam, both located in the Santa Fe National Forest. Hike the scenic trails then soak in the relaxing warm waters. Those looking for a more refined experience can visit the Jemez Springs Bath House or Ca帽on del Rio Retreat and Spa to enjoy spa treatments and warm pools or stay in the onsite resort. The town itself dates back some 700 years, and is full of history. Moab, UT

Moab is a lovely small town in Utah, that is a gateway town to a number of nearby scenic parks. Visitors can enjoy easy access to Canyonlands National Park, and Arches National Park, both considered part of the Mighty Five National Parks of Utah. One of the biggest draws to the area is the ancient Taos Pueblo, a traditional town built of adobe-style buildings dating back over 1,000 years. This Indigenous community is both a National Historic Landmark and a Unesco 海角社区 Heritage Site. The wider town of Taos is enriched by the beauty and culture of the area, and has inspired a strong artistic scene.
