The Tallest Buildings In Israel
Tel Aviv, the second-most populous city in Israel, is home to some of the tallest skyscrapers in the country. Due to the ever-rising value of real estate, Ramat Gan and Tel Aviv experienced an increase in skyscraper architecture in the last two centuries. The first high-rise in Israel was Shalom Meir Tower which was completed in 1965. It held the title of the tallest skyscraper until 1987, when it was replaced by the Marganit tower.
Tallest Buildings in Israel
1. Azrieli Sarova Tower
Azrieli Sarona Tower is a 782 ft high skyscraper that is on Begin road in Tel Aviv, Israel. It is the tallest high-rise in Israel. The 53-floors building was developed by Azrieli Group after they acquired the plot from the Land administration of Israel. David Azrieli placed the cornerstone for the building on March 12, 2012, and about 60% of the building was already rented by June 2016. They leased the thirty-third to thirty-seventh floors to Africa Israel Investments for a hotel. The construction process which lasted for four years began in 2013. The building has a 7-story garage with approximately 1,600 parking lots.
2. Moshe Aviv Tower
Moshe Aviv tower, also referred to as City Gate, is a 771 ft high building in Bursa, Ramat Gan. The 68-floor skyscraper was named after the owner of the company which constructed the building who died in October 2001, before its completion. Amnon Schwartz and Amnon Niv were the architects who designed Moshe Aviv Tower. City Gate was opened in 2003 after five years of construction. Moshe Aviv Tower is a multipurpose building with the top eleven floors being residential space while the top one is an emergency helipad.
3. HaShachar Tower
HaSachar Tower is a 696 ft tall high-rise in Givatayin close to the border of Tel Aviv and Ramat Gan. Sufrin Group and Tidhar Group developed HaSachar Tower. The first 37 levels are commercial and office spaces. The top 17 floors have 149 apartments, and the 38th floor has a residential sky-lobby. Clal Bituach leased seven floors to IBM Israel after they acquired 20 levels for investment purposes.
4. Midtown TLV
Midtown TLV is a 50-story unique building that has encapsulated everything the city has to offer. It has restaurants, cafes, stores, offices, residences and swimming pools in one area right between Savidor Central Railway Station and Azrieli Center. The 659 ft tall high-rise is on Ayalon Highway. Midtown TVS was built to look like two cubes stacked together. Electra groups constructed the building. The skyscraper was opened in 2017, and it has 338 apartments. The lower level of the building is the commercial hub of the region.
5. Azrieli Center Circular Tower
Azrieli Center is a 49-story high-rise in Tel Aviv with a shopping mall at its base. Eli Attia (American-Israel architect) was the original designer of the building, but after he fell out with David Azrieli, the job was passed to Moore Yaski Sivan. It is on a 371,000 sq ft land which was previously used as the parking garage for the city鈥檚 dumper-trucks. Construction of the high-rise started in 1996 and ended in 1999. The 48th floor is Mr. Azrieli鈥檚 office while the 49th story has a high-end hotel and an indoor observation deck. All the levels of the 614 ft tall tower have eighty-four windows giving it a total of 4,000 windows.
The Future of Skyscrapers in Israel
The skylines of some of the major cities in Israel especially Tel Aviv is ever-growing with new high-rises still under construction. Tel Aviv has one of the best skylines in the country. One of the major projects is the Arlozorov Young Towers which is a residential building that will be completed by 2020. Midtown Residence is a 50 floors skyscraper that is being constructed on Ayalon highway and will be finished by 2018. The third tallest building still under construction is the 590ft tall Hakhsharat HaYishuv Tower in Bnei Brak.
