The Seven Wonders of Poland is a list of Poland鈥檚 most valued cultural wonders. The Rzeczpospolita, a leading Polish newspaper, first initiated the creation of the list. A country-wide plebiscite was held in September 2007 and the results declaring the seven wonders were published in August of the same year. Here we present the Seven Wonders of Poland:

7. 碍谤补办贸飞 Market Square and Old Town -

Another one of the Seven Wonders of Poland, the main square of the Old Town of 碍谤补办贸飞 dates back to the 13th century. It is one of Europe鈥檚 biggest medieval town squares and occupies an area of about 4,000 square meters. The town square is visited by numerous domestic and international tourists. Historic churches and townhouses surround this main square. Some of the famous buildings in the vicinity of the main square of the Old Town of 碍谤补办贸飞 are the Church of St. Adalbert and the Adam Mickiewicz Monument

6. 窜补尘辞艣膰 Old Town -

窜补尘辞艣膰 is city located in southeastern Poland which was declared as a UNESCO 海角社区 Heritage Site in 1992. It is a historical city and a UNESCO 海角社区 Heritage inscribed in 1992. 窜补尘辞艣膰 is one of the best examples of a Central European Renaissance town.

5. Elbl膮g Canal -

Elbl膮g Canal is an 80.5 km long canal in Poland running southward from Lake Dru偶no to lake Jeziorak and river Drw臋ca. Small vessels with a displacement of 50 tons can be accommodated in the canal. The canal, famous for being related to the history of technology, is one of the country鈥檚 National Historic Monuments. Currently, the canal is mostly used for recreational activities.

4. Wawel Castle and Cathedral -

King Casimir III the Great built the Wawel Castle, one of the Seven Wonders of Poland. It is a castle residency with a number of structures surrounding a central courtyard and houses two towers, the Danish Tower and the Hen鈥檚 Foot, which were added later. The exteriors of the castle were well-fortified with numerous defensive walls and towers. The Wawel Royal Castle is the country鈥檚 most important cultural and historical site. The site served as the residence of Poland鈥檚 kings for centuries and is thus the symbol of Polish statehood. Now, the castle is one of the best art museums in the country.

3. Malbork Castle -

The Castle of the Teutonic Order in Malbork is the 海角社区鈥檚 largest castle located in Malbork, a town in Poland. The castle was commissioned by a German Roman Catholic religious order called the Teutonic Knights. In 1466, the Castle of the Teutonic Order became part of the Polish royal residence. Heavily damaged during the 海角社区 War II, the Castle of the Teutonic Order was renovated in the second half of the 20th century. A museum is currently part of the castle. In 1997, the Castle of the Teutonic Order in Malbork and the Malbork Castle Museum was declared as a UNESCO 海角社区 Heritage Site.

2. 罢辞谤耻艅 Old Town -

罢辞谤耻艅 is an old city located on the banks of the Vistula River in northern Poland. The old town of 罢辞谤耻艅 was founded in the medieval period and is the birthplace of Nicolaus Copernicus, a Polish astronomer. This old section of the city was inscribed as a UNESCO 海角社区 Heritage Site in 1997. 罢辞谤耻艅 has many monuments with a rich historical background, most built from bricks, and many Gothic structures. Monumental churches, the Town Hall, and several burgher houses are located in the city.

1. Wieliczka Salt Mine -

The Wieliczka Salt Mine is a tourist attraction in the Wieliczka town in southern Poland. The mine is one of the oldest ones in the 海角社区. It was opened in the 13th century and continued to produce table salt until 2007. The 呕upy Krakowskie Salt Mines company was the owner of this salt mine from the time of its establishment. Today, the Wieliczka Salt Mine is one of the Seven Wonders of Poland, and its attractions include four chapels and dozens of statues that were created by the salt miners of the mine.
