7. National Nature Park
Lake Synevyr, one of the Seven Natural Wonders of Ukraine, is the largest lake in the Carpathian Mountains of the country. The lake is located in the Zakarpattia Oblast and is part of the National natural preserve "Synevyr". According to researchers, the Lake Synevyr formed about 10,000 years ago. The lake is located at an elevation of 989 meters above sea level and is surrounded by forest that is about 140 to 160 years old. Tourists are not allowed to swim, camp or fish in the lake. However, the scenic beauty of the lake and its pristine waters, and the surrounding green forests are a big attraction for nature lovers.
6. Shatsky National Nature Park
Shatsky National Natural Park was established in 1983 with the objective to protect and preserve the region鈥檚 flora and fauna, and also encourage tourism in the region. The park occupies an area of 490 square km in the Shatsk Region of the Volyn Oblast. The Shatsky National Natural Park features more than 30 lakes of different sizes. The group of lakes here is one of the largest in Europe. Among these lakes is Lake Svitiaz, the deepest and second largest Ukrainian Lake. The lake has a maximum depth of 58.4 meters. The protected area houses about 1180 species of plants including 795 species of higher vascular plants. Animals found here include 55 mammals, 7 species of amphibians, 29 fish species, 241 bird species, and a large number of invertebrate species.
5. Podilski Tovtry
The Podilski Tovtry, a national nature park, is located in the Khmelnytskyi Oblast in western Ukraine. It is the country鈥檚 biggest conservation area. The national nature park was established on July 27, 1996, and occupies an area of 2,613.16 square km. The Podilski Tovtry houses 217 species of fauna including a number of threatened species. The primary goal of the park is to protect the flora and fauna of the ecoregion. It also promotes nature tourism in the region. The park also includes two Ramsar wetlands of international importance including the Lower Smotrych River and the Bakota Bay. 19 archeological sights, 1 state reserve, a botanical garden, and 302 monuments of historical and cultural heritage are all part of the Podilski Tovtry.
4. Simferopol Speleology Museum (Marble Cave)
The Marble Caves site is a natural wonder of Ukraine and is located in Crimea on the lower plateau of the mountainous massif of Chatyr-Dag. It is one of Europe鈥檚 most visited caves and is considered to be one of the most beautiful caves in the 海角社区 by speleologists. The cave in named so since it is made of marble limestone. The cave features the Fairy Tales gallery, a path with hundreds of stalactites called the Tiger Path, Crimea鈥檚 largest cave room called the Reconstruction Room, the Palace Hall with columns named as 鈥淜ing鈥 and 鈥淨ueen鈥, and more such unique and interesting speleological features.
3. Landscape park
The Dniester River Canyon is a part of the Dniester River Valley in Ukraine, and one of the Seven Natural Wonders of the country. The canyon stretches for 250 km from the mouth of the Zolota Lypa River to the Zbruch river鈥檚 mouth. The maximum depth of canyon is about 50 meters. The Dniester River Canyon offers scenic views to tourists visiting the place. It is the Dniester River basin's most picturesque area. Many species of rare plants grow here. Hundreds of species of animals and birds can also be observed here. Over 10 karst caves and grottoes are present here. Impressive waterfalls running along thick bryophyte rocks also enhance the beauty of the landscape. Thousands of tourists are attracted to the Dniester River Canyon each year. Skydiving is one of the most popular tourist activities here. The All-Ukrainian and International skydiving competitions are held here twice a year.
2. Landscape park
A regional landscape park, the Granite-steppe lands of Buh located in Ukraine鈥檚 Mykolaiv Oblast, is one of the Seven Natural Wonders of Ukraine. The park encompasses the Southern Buh river valley and the valleys of its tributaries. The entire park, established in 1994, covers an area of 6,267 ha. The park is famous for its rich biodiversity. Over 9,000 species of insects, 300 species of vertebrate animals, and 900 species of vascular plants live in the Granite-steppe lands of Buh.
1. Falz-Fein Biosphere Preserve
Askania-Nova is a famous biosphere reserve located in Ukraine鈥檚 Kherson Oblast. The reserve features a botanical garden, a zoological park, and an open virgin steppe sanctuary. The reserve was established in 1898 around the Askania-Nova German colony. It occupies a total area of 825 square km. The fauna here includes both local and exotic species. Ostriches, wild horses, zebras, llamas, bison, and antelopes have been introduced here. Over 200 species of plants collected from different parts of the 海角社区 also grow here. The most notable feature of the Askania-Nova nature reserve is that it hosts the largest captive group of the Przewalski's Horse in the 海角社区.
