The 'Gate City', New Hampshire's largest city, sits at the Merrimack River south of Concord near the foothills of the White Mountains. Nashua's thriving downtown area is a regional, commercial and entertainment destination.
Huge shopping outlets are located off the Daniel Webster highway, attracting people from Massachusetts who love New Hampshire's lack of state sales tax. Hewlett-Packard is one the largest high tech employers in the region.
A perfect base camp for a New Hampshire vacation, several ski resorts are located within a 30-minute drive of the city. Visit local Crotch Mountain, Pats Peak, and McIntyre just outside the city for downhill, boarding and lessons. Ragged Mountain is just a little north and Wachusett Mountain is over the border ino Massachusetts. The nearby Windblown area offers cross country skiing and snowshoe trails.

  • The only vertical wind tunnel in New Hampshire, Skyventure offers the 'freedom of flight.' Suited up in full flight gear and helmet, riders are pillowed on a strong upwards wind current that allows them to float in the air. Vertical wind tunnels have long been used for skydiver training, including aerial acrobatics, and have recently become a thrill for the public. Kids from age 3 and up can experience the high of skydiving without a parachute or the danger. Guests up to 250 lbs. and in reasonably good health get a 20-minute lesson and then they are flying, right in downtown Nashua.
    The 325 acre Mine Falls Park is located in the heart of Nashua. This iconic park is bordered by the Nashua River to the north and the Millpond and canal system to the south. Wetlands, open fields and woodlands offer hiking, fishing, biking and cross country skiing. The park is home to miles of trails and several athletic fields. The manmade falls are 36 feet high and were created with the canal system to serve the old lead mining company in the 1800's. The Gatehouse, Millyard buildings and canal system are on the National Register of Historic Places and the miles of trails have been designated as part of the New Hampshire Heritage Trail system which spans from Massachusetts to Canada.

    This indoor amusement park offers something for kids of all ages year round. Carnival rides include a stunning carousel, a mini roller coaster, and the spinning Himalaya. Games get physical with everything from Dance, Revolution to Super Bikes to Air Hockey. There are plenty of visuals with the Wave Motion Theater and then rock out with Guitar Hero.
    The playground features a giant fun maze with lots of tubes and netting to climb through, plus slides, towers and the ball pit. This is one of the best things to do in New Hampshire on a rainy day!
