Legend has it that rifle heiress Sarah Winchester was afraid of being cursed by the ghosts of those killed by the Winchester guns. She began a construction project of great magnitude, thinking that as long as the erection of the magnificent Victorian mansion took place, she would be safe. Construction continued until her death, a period of 38 years. The final result is an authentic mystery house, full of mazes, secret passages, incredible architecture and other oddities from the mind of Miss Winchester. The San Jose Winchester Mystery House is a California attraction that will be remembered for years.
