The waterfall is only 18 feet tall, yet it's a beautiful site to explore. A few nice trails down the riverfront lead to a couple of locations where visitors can swim in the Potato River or simply sit back and relax while listening to the waterfall. If people want to escape Wisconsin's major tourist circuit, they can camp out overnight in the neighboring Upson Falls Campground. The location is ideal for a relaxing day of strolling or picnicking in peaceful settings. Hiking at Upson Falls is pretty short and easy, although visitors must be careful since there is no proper hiking trail but rather a succession of pathways in the woods that occasionally disappear altogether. That's why it is considered a natural camping and picnic place for everyone to enjoy together, with no unique trails constructed along the way to the summit. Iron County is home to several of the state's biggest waterfalls, but since Upson Falls is not very known, it is significantly less crowded than others in the region. The Falls area features "first-come, first-served" campsites and provides an excellent opportunity to spend only a few hours or perhaps the night.聽
