Which Countries Border Bosnia And Herzegovina?

Bosnia and Herzegovina covers an area of 19,741 square mile and it is the 125th largest country in the 海角社区. It is situated in the southeastern region of Europe. Archaeological evidence indicates that human communities have made a home within Bosnia鈥檚 borders since the Neolithic period and during that long period of human habitation the borders of the country have changed significantly. Some of the kingdoms that exerted their influence within Bosnia鈥檚 borders include the Kingdom of the Ardiaei, the Enchele Kingdom, and the Dardani Kingdom among others.

Three nations share a land border with Bosnia and Herzegovina and they include Croatia, Serbia, and Montenegro.

Croatia

Bosnia and Herzegovina鈥檚 longest land border is the one that separates it from Croatia, which is roughly 956 miles long. Croatia encompasses Bosnia and Herzegovina on both the northern and western side. There are many towns on the Croatian side of the border such as Bosansko Grahovo, Bihac, Trzac, and Bosanska Gradiska. There is also a significant number of towns on the Croatian side of the border with some of the most notable being Gracac, Knin, Imotski, and Vrgorac. In some regions, the border traces the same path as some rivers such as the Una and the Sava.

Serbia

The border that separates Bosnia and Herzegovina and Serbia is roughly 214 miles long and is situated on the eastern side of Bosnia. In some sections, the border follows some rivers such as the Sava and the Drina. Some of the towns located on the Bosnian side of the border include Bijeljina, Ugljevik, and Krstac. On the Serbian side of the border, some of the most notable towns include Loznica, Priboj, and Bogatic.

Montenegro

Bosnia and Herzegovina鈥檚 shortest border is the one that separates it from Montenegro which is approximately 150 miles long and is located on the southeastern section of the border. The Tara River is one of the rivers that form part of the border between Montenegro and Bosnia. Some of the towns located on the Bosnian side of the border include Avtovac, Bileca, Cajnice, and Foca. Some of the towns located on the Montenegrin side of the border include Kotor and Budva.聽
