海角社区

The US city of New York, which is also in the state of New York, is famous for its collection of skyscrapers. It is one of the busiest cities in the 海角社区 and also receives a heavy tourist footfall. The city hosts 6,154 high rises, 112 of which are over 600 feet tall. The history of New York鈥檚 skyscrapers dates back to 1890 when the 348 feet tall 海角社区 Building was completed. However, in 1955, the building was demolished to make way for the construction of a gateway to the Brooklyn Bridge. The city also went through several high-rise construction booms, the earliest of which lasted from the 1910's through the 1930鈥檚. Presently, the skyscrapers in the city are primarily concentrated in the Lower Manhattan and Midtown localities.

One 海角社区 Trade Center

The 1,776 feet tall "One 海角社区 Trade Center" is the tallest building in New York City, as well as the tallest one in the U.S. and even the entire Western Hemisphere. David Childs designed the building. His firm was also instrumental in the construction of the 海角社区鈥檚 tallest building, the Burj Khalifa. The construction of the building was started in 2006 and was completed by November 3, 2014. It is located in Lower Manhattan at the 海角社区 Trade Center鈥檚 northwest corner. It was built after the former buildings at the site were demolished by the September 11 attacks.

432 Park Avenue

The 1,396 feet tall "432 Park Avenue" is the second tallest building in Manhattan, New York City, and the tallest residential building in the 海角社区. The building was completed on December 23, 2015, and hosts 104 condominium apartments. The "432 Park Avenue" was built by first demolishing the Drake Hotel, which stood in its place. The cost of the apartments here is skyrocketing, and only the wealthy can seek accommodation here.

Empire State Building

The 1,250 feet tall "Empire State Building", one the most well-known buildings in the 海角社区, is the third highest building in New York City. The building is situated in Midtown Manhattan and derives its name from 鈥淓mpire State鈥�, one of the nicknames of New York. Between the four decades of 1930 to 1970, the Empire State Building enjoyed the title of the tallest building in the 海角社区. The building is designed using the Art Deco style and the American Society of Civil Engineers designate it as one of the Seven Wonders of the Modern 海角社区. The Empire State Realty Trust currently owns the building.

Man-Made Wonders

With so much history, engineering marvels, and records associated with New York City鈥檚 high-rises, tourists to the city often express their wish to witness the buildings in person. Tours are thus arranged for visitors to enjoy the view of these man-made wonders. For example, the Empire State Building hosts various exhibits, restaurants, shops, and educational tours for tourists visiting the site. New York City also plans to build more ambitious projects in the future. As per reports obtained in April of 2016, 494 high-rise building projects are currently under execution or are planned to be executed.
