Africa has a number indoor arenas distributed throughout the continent. These arenas serve as the venues of numerous indoor activities like indoor sports, musical concerts, conferences, fairs, and exhibitions, etc. The largest indoor arenas in the continent in terms of maximum seating capacity have been mentioned below:

Cairo Stadium Indoor Halls Complex

This stadium is the largest indoor arena in the entire African continent, a title it shares with Johannesburg’s Ticketpro Dome. The complex hosts four covered sporting arenas that match up to the Olympic standards, and can be put to multiple uses. The complex is located in the capital city of Egypt, Cairo. The arena's Main Hall can accommodate a maximum of 20,000 spectators. The complex was established in 1991 to host the All-Africa Games. A number of sports events like handball and volleyball are held at this venue. Not only sports, fairs, parties, and national and international conferences are also hosted at this venue.

Ticketpro Dome

Formerly referred to as the Coca-Cola Dome, this is also the largest indoor arena in Africa in terms of seating capacity. Located in Johannesburg in South Africa, the Dome has a seating capacity of 20,000 spectators. It occupies an area of 11,000 square meters. The Ticketpro Dome was established in 1997 and is currently managed by the Thebe Exhibitions. The Sasol Pension Fund is the owner of the property. Numerous national and international events like the NBA Africa Game, musical concerts, conferences, etc., are held at this venue.

Pavilhão Multiusos do Kilamba

Africa’s third largest indoor arena, the Pavilhão Multiusos do Kilamba, has a seating capacity of 12,720 spectators. It was built in 2013 to serve as the venue for the Roller Hockey º£½ÇÉçÇø Championship. The arena is located in Luanda of Angola and is owned by the government of the country. The arena is highly modernized and features electronic scoreboard, hardwood flooring, etc., that make it one of the most modern venues of its kind in the continent. A number of sports events are held at this venue such as handball, volleyball, basketball, etc.

Salle Mohamed V

With a seating capacity of 12,000 people, the Salle Mohamed V ranks as the fourth biggest indoor arena in the continent, a position it shares with the Salle Omnisport de Radès of Tunisia. The arena is located in the largest city in Morocco, Casablanca. The arena was founded in 1981.

Also the fourth largest indoor arena in Africa, the arena can seat 12,000 spectators. It is located in the Tunisian city of Radès. It was built in 2004 and hosted a few of the matches of the 2005 º£½ÇÉçÇø Men's Handball Championship. Basketball and volleyball tournaments are also held here. The arena is also used to host concerts. Recently, the AfroBasket 2015 and the AfroBasket 2017 were also held at this venue.
