National Teams With The Most Cricket Test Match Wins

Test matches are international cricket matches only played between full members of the International Cricket Council (ICC) who have "Test" status. The matches are made up of 2 innings for every team and have no limits to the number of overs. The first test match to be officially recognized was played in March 1877, between England and Australia.

10. Bangladesh (7 wins)

The Tigers is the national team for cricket in Bangladesh, representing the country in international cricket. The team is managed by the Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB). The country is a full member of the International Cricket Council (ICC) with One Day International (ODI) and Test status. In November 2000, the Tigers played their first Test in Dhaka against India. Bangladesh became the 10th Test playing nation. The country's first official entry into international cricket was in England during the 1979 ICC trophy. Bangladesh participated in its first ODI match on March 31, 1986 against Pakistan during the Asia Cup. Football had been the most popular sport in the country for the longest time. However, cricket slowly became relatively popular, surpassing football by the 1990s. Bangladesh qualified for its first Cricket 海角社区 Cup which was being held in England in 1999, after winning the ICC Trophy in 1997 in Malaysia. During the Cricket 海角社区 Cup, Bangladesh defeated Pakistan which caused an upset. They also defeated Scotland. The country was granted full ICC membership on June 26, 2000 and has had seven wins.

9. Zimbabwe (11 wins)

Zimbabwe is represented in international cricket by the Zimbabwean Cricket Team, the country's official team. The team is governed by Zimbabwe cricket which was formerly known as the Zimbabwe Cricket Union or ZCU. With One Day International and Test status, the country is a full member of the ICC. The ICC ranks Zimbabwe as 12th in Twenty Internationals, 11th in ODI's and 10th in Tests as of August 15, 2016.

8. Sri Lanka (75 wins)

The national cricket team of Sri Lanka is known as the Sri Lankan cricket team (also nicknamed the Lions). The team is governed by Sri Lanka Cricket and represents the country in international cricket. Sri Lanka is a full member of the ICC with One Day International and Test status. Sri Lanka played its first international cricket between the 1926 and1927 seasons but was awarded the Test status later on in 1982, making the country the 8th Test cricket playing nation. The success of Sri Lanka's national cricket team began in 1990's when they won the Cricket 海角社区 Cup in 1996. The Lions have continued to triumph in international cricket, reaching the finals of the 2007 and 2011 Cricket 海角社区 Cups. Sri Lanka has had 75 wins.

7. New Zealand (83 wins)

Nicknamed the Black Caps, the New Zealand cricket team is the national team that represents New Zealand in international cricket. The team played its first Test in Christchurch New Zealand in 1930, against England. New Zealand became the 5th country to play Test cricket. After that, the country had to wait for over 26 years to attain its first Test victory at Eden Park in Auckland against the West Indies. The Black Caps participated in their first ODI match in Christchurch against Pakistan between the 1972 and 1973 season. In 2015, the Black Caps qualified for the ICC Cricket 海角社区 Cup final match for the first time after defeating South Africa. The team has had 83 wins.

6. Pakistan (126 wins)

Pakistan's national cricket team is a full member of the ICC. Both One Day International and Test status represent Pakistan in international cricket. The team first participated in international cricket in 1952, competing in a four-day Test match against India. Despite their loss, Pakistan recorded their first Test win during the same series. Pakistan claimed victory during the 1992 Cricket 海角社区 Cup and the 2012 Asia Cups. The country has a record of 126 wins.

5. India (127 wins)

Also known as the "Men in Blue" and Team India, the Indian cricket team represents India in international cricket. The Board of Control administers the team which is a full member of the ICC with Twenty20 International (T20I), One Day International and Test status for Cricket in India. The first cricket club in India was created in 1792 in Calcutta. The team played its first Test match on June 25, 1932, becoming the 6th team to be granted Test cricket status. The team had won the Cricket 海角社区 Cup twice, in 1983 and 2011. The Indian cricket team has had 127 wins. The ICC ranks India 4th in ODIs, 2nd in T20Is and first in Tests as of March 7, 2017.

4. South Africa (145 wins)

With 145 wins, "Proteas" is the nickname for the South African cricket team, which is the national team that represents the country in international cricket. The team is governed by Cricket South Africa and is a full member of the ICC with One Day International and Test status. For the first time, South Africa was ranked the top team in Test Cricket on August 20, 2012 while eight days later it became the first team to top the rankings in all three formats of the game. At present, the country is ranked 3rd in T20Is, first in ODIs and 3rd year in Tests by the ICC.

3. West Indies (164 wins)

Also known as the Windies, the West Indies cricket team is a multi-national team that represents the West Indies in international cricket. The West Indies Cricket Board is a coalition of 15 Caribbean countries that mainly speak English, together with non-British and British dependencies. Between the mid-1970s to early 1990s, the Windies dominated both One Day International and Test cricket. The team has featured some the 海角社区's best cricketers, all of whom are listed on the ICC Hall of Fame. The team has claimed two victories in the ICC Cricket 海角社区 Cup in 1975 and 1979. West Indies has had 164 wins

2. England (346 wins)

England and Wales are represented in international cricket by the English cricket team who also represented Scotland until 1992. The England and Wales Cricket Board (ECB) has been the team's governing body since January 1, 1997. However, from 1903 to 1996 the team had been administered by the Marylebone Cricket Club (MCC). Between March 15th and19th 1877, England and Australia were the first teams to participate in a Test match. At present, the country holds the highest record ever for ODI totals and is ranked 5th in both ODIs and T20Is and 4th in Tests by the ICC. England has had 346 wins.

Australia is represented in international cricket by the Australian national cricket team. Having played its first ever Test matches in 1877 the Australia national cricket team is the oldest in the history of Test cricket together with the England national cricket team. In regards to percentage wins, overall wins and win-loss ratio, the country ranks as the number one team overall in Test cricket. The Australia national cricket team has participated in four consecutive 海角社区 Cup Finals and has won three. The team also won the 2015 海角社区 Cup on home soil. Australia has had 372 wins.
