MLB Teams and Their Cities

Major League Baseball (MLB) is an organization that brings together all the professional baseball teams in the United States and Canada. It is the oldest major professional sports league in the US and Canada. MLB comprises of 30 teams of which 15 teams play in the National League and the other 15 in the American League. Each of the two leagues is further divided into three divisions; East, Central, and West. Each division is made up of five teams. Below are the MLB teams and their cities.

The state of California has five teams in the MLB. The Los Angeles Angels, who play in the American League, are based in the city of Anaheim in Orange County. At home games, they play at the 45,957-capacity Angel Stadium. Also playing in the American League is Oakland Athletics from the city of Oakland. The team plays its home matches at the multi-purpose RingCentral Coliseum. The other three Californian MLB teams play in the National League. The Los Angeles Dodgers is based in Los Angeles and plays its home matches at the Dodgers Stadium while San Diego Padre and San Francisco Giants are based in San Diego and San Francisco respectively.

The Miami Marlins and the Tampa Bay Rays are Florida-based baseball teams that compete in the National League and American League respectively. The Miami Marlins are a member of the East Division and has its home park in Marlins Park, Miami. The Tampa Bay Rays are also a member of the East Division and play their home matches at the 31,042-capacity Tropicana Field in the city of St. Petersburg.

New York 

As the names suggest, New York Yankees and New York Mets are all based in New York City. The New York Yankees are a member of the American League East Division and play their matches at the Yankees Stadium. The Mets, on the other hand, compete in the National League East Division considers Citi Park as its home ground.

±õ±ô±ô¾±²Ô´Ç¾±²õÌý

Both the Chicago Cubs and the Chicago White Sox are based in Chicago, Illinois. However, while Chicago Cubs play in the National League Central Division, the Chicago White Sox compete in the American League Central Division. The Cubs’ home ground is Wrigley Field while the White Sox play their home matches at the Guaranteed Rate Field.

Missouri

The Royals and the Cardinals are Missouri-based based MLB teams competing in the American League and National League Central Division respectively. Founded in 1969, the Royals have played most of their home matches at the Kauffman Stadium, Kansas City. On the other hand, the Cardinals, based in St. Louis, play most of their home matches at the Busch Stadium.

The MLB Team Outside the US

The Major League Baseball comprises of 30 teams of which 29 teams are in the US and one team in Canada. The Toronto Blue Jays in Canada joined the MLB in 1970 and currently competes as a member of the American League East Division. The Toronto-based team plays its home matches at the 49,282-capacity Rogers Center (formerly the SkyDome).
