It is a federal republic that covers an area of about 770,000 sq mi and has a population of slightly more than 120 million people. Mexico is the º£½ÇÉçÇø's 11th most populous country and the most populous Spanish-speaking state. Mexico, just like the United States, is made up of several states. In total, 31 states and the federal district of Mexico City combine to form the state of Mexico. The country is the fifteenth largest economy in the º£½ÇÉçÇø. It is a member of NAFTA, OECD, and UNO.

History Of Mexico

Modern-day Mexico dates back to 1519 when Spaniard Hernán Cortés arrived at Veracruz. Even before the arrival of the Spaniard, Mexico was among the most developed societies in the º£½ÇÉçÇø with civilized communities and structured leadership. Cortez formed allies in the city of Veracruz and overthrew the local leadership. He named his colony Nueva España (New Spain). Between 1521 and 1609, diseases from Spanish immigrants, civil wars, and attacks from neighboring kingdoms killed over 24 million people. The Catholic Church established monasteries and sent missionaries to spread Christianity across the colony, and to date, Catholicism remains the dominant religion in the country. The current boundaries of Mexico were mapped after the Mexican-American War that resulted in the United States’ annexation of Mexican territory to form eight of it present-day states.

Modern Mexico

Mexico is governed by the government of the federal republic of Mexico. The federal government shares sovereignty With the 31 Mexican states and represents the states as a single body in international and regional matters. The federal government consists of the executive, the judiciary, and the legislature. The executive consists of the president and cabinet while the legislature consists of the Chamber of Deputies and the Senate which jointly form the Congress of the Union. Mexico City is the largest and the capita city of Mexico. Unequal distribution of wealth remains a major challenge in the country. This has led to the unequal distribution of the population, as cities such as Mexico City remain overpopulated by people seeking job opportunities and better living conditions. Mexico is the drugs empire of the º£½ÇÉçÇø as drug cartels overrun the country with the aim of exporting drugs from South and Central America into the United States. American president Donald Trump vowed to construct a wall along the border with Mexico to curb the persistent influx of illegal immigrants and drug trafficking into the United States.
